Bar Gaby


Walking back 100 meters from the Casa Bahia Hotel entrance is Bar Gaby.  

A true Nica experience, they welcome you in to enjoy their open air dining atmosphere, nestled amongst the forest trees and family farm animals.  

Half house and half Restaurant it is home to the local fisherman and his family.  




Fresh seafood is always on the menu including squid, shrimp and lobster, cooked in a variety of traditional recipes. The Ceviches, Fillets and Whole Fish garnished with fresh salads and all the Nica side serves, will leave you well satisfied.  

Open all day from Breakfast to 10pm in the evening. 

The menu also includes Omelette, French Toast, Chicken with Mushroom Sauce, Tacos, Quesadillas, Seafood & Chicken Nachos, Steak, and Hamburgers.




La Comeda Chilo – Nica Bar & Restaurant


The smiles of Chilo and her family, welcome you into their family run Nica bar, which fronts onto the entrance road 100 metres before the beach (50 metres before Villa Mar). It is locally known as just "Cheranga’s” or “Chilo’s”.  

Their traditional Nica menu highlights beef and chicken, as well as seafood options like the langosta al ajillo (lobster in garlic sauce) and the fish catch of the day (filleted or entire) in generous portions prepared differently with sauces of choice to tantalise the taste buds.

Open from 7am for a hearty breakfast going all day for lunch and dinner continuing on till 10pm at night or much, much later by crowd demand. 

Here at Chilo & Cheranga’s you can also buy milk, cigarettes, cookies, and packet snacks, as well as take away beer, rum, juice and fizzy drinks like coke, pepsi etc in 1.5ltr and 3 ltr bottles.




Concha's Rancho Marsella

Rancho Marsella, also known as “Concha’s,” is located on the mouth of the El Baston River overlooking the beach. 

Their menu includes tasty ceviches and seafood dishes caught locally; the Sopa de Mariscos (Seafood Soup) is a favourite on weekends. 








Sitting underneath the el rancho you can take in the beach view or see up river and catch a glimpse of “Paco,” the crocodile who lives amongst the trees. 

Paco also likes to have lunch at Concha’s, where they call or whistle him up and he is rewarded with fish bits. 

Paco is approximately 3.5 metres long and he is a very happy snappy being so well fed.

Relax and chill out in the shade for the day with family and friends, and utilise all the amenities at The Li'l Aussie Hut. 

Bring Your Own cooler of supplies; have a few drinks or a BBQ.

Enjoy a game of beach cricket or get into the rugby kickoff challenge.

Villa Mar





Walking 50 metres back from Rancho Marsella, back along the entrance road away from the Playa Marsella, is Villa Mar.

Owned by a friendly Nica family, it has an elevated balcony area with Wi-Fi internet that overlooks the tree lined river as well as a view to the beach. 

Open from breakfast till 10pm they have an all day menu, including a variety of seafood dishes, soups, beef all prepared to your liking. 

The Carpaccio or chicken with jalapeño sauce are delicious.



Massages

Make all your stress, aches and pains disappear with a massage listening to the sound of the waves at The Li’l Aussie Hut. 

The choice is yours – Shiatsu, Swedish, Thai Yoga, Acupressure, Reflexology, Reiki - in 60 minute sessions.

Yoga



Beach Yoga is such a calming exercise on Playa Marsella. Instructed lessons in groups or private sessions are available to those who wish to meditate and regenerate in the tranquil ambiance of the beach.

Casa Pelon - Dig the Pig Smokehouse


Close to Rancho Marsella, Dig The Pig - Pelon’s Smokehouse Meats (Casa Pelon) has Take-away Smoked Meats prepared with special herbs and spices, basted with Pelon’s Secret Sauce then slowly cooked in the smoker for over 8 hours.  


The bacon and Spicy Chorizo, combined with eggs, makes a breakfast you will never forget! 

The Slow Smoked Ribs are delicious.

Dig the Pig also offers catered dinners for small groups on site.  





Mango Rosa Resort


Mango Rosa Resort is 300 metres after the turnoff to Playa Marsella, Maderas and Majagual, when coming from the Chocolata Road. Enjoy an all day restaurant and bar with T.V. and Wi-Fi and daily specials. 



Open for breakfast at 7am til 10pm. 

Mango’s mixed menu, including Breakfast, Snacks, Main Meals & Desserts, caters to a wide variety of tastes and choices. 

From nachos, BLT’s, chicken wings, and burgers to tenderloins, fresh seafood and salads.







Casa Bahia Hotel


25 metres back from Chilo & Cheranga’s is the entrance into Casa Bahia Hotel, formerly known as the Pacific Bay Hotel. 


Built on a hill, the second storey restaurant has a balcony with a panoramic view of Playa Marsella and the valley from canopy level.   

The Restaurant is open between 7am-10am for breakfast and for lunch and dinner, 12pm-9pm. 



Their menu has a wide variety of choices with Chicken, Fish, Beef, Pasta and Vegetarian dishes cooked in gourmet flavors and served with Mashed Potato, Fries or Salad.  

Snacks include Crispy Onion Rings, Cheesey Fries, Tacos, Burgers and Sandwiches.  

Pasta flavours of Walnut Basil Pesto, Marinara  and Alfredo (with or without meat) are all served with garlic bread and fresh salads.




El Secreto


El Secreto tucked away at the end of Playa Marsella overlooks Submarine Rock. Their menu also specialises in seafood dishes, with the seafood pasta and their pittaya ice cream dessert being two of popular items.  With Wi-Fi and an upstairs balcony that overlooks the beach, sunset drinks upstairs are a relaxing way to finish the day.
